Talk to the people who will do the work. Not a call centre, and not a form that goes to three other builders.

How to reach us

Call or send a message if you want a quick answer on whether a project suits us. Use the quote form if you would rather set out the details in one go: it asks the questions we would ask anyway, so the first reply can be useful rather than a request for more information.

We read every enquiry ourselves. It is not triaged by anyone else first, and it does not go to a panel of contractors. You will get a reply within one working day, and usually sooner.

Commercial enquiries are welcome at any stage, including before a lease is signed. If you are weighing up a unit, we would rather look at the demise drawings early and tell you what the extraction, the drainage or the access will cost you, than price a fit-out for a building that was never going to work.

What to send us

The more of this you have, the more useful our first answer is. None of it is required, and a two-line message is a perfectly good place to start.

For a home: what you want done in your own words, the address or at least the borough, rough room dimensions or a floor area, a few photographs of the space as it is now, any drawings you already have even if hand-sketched, where you have got to with planning, and the budget you have in mind.

For a commercial unit: the demise drawings, the landlord's fit-out guide, the brand or concept package, the date you need to open, and what access the building allows.

On budget: telling us is not a negotiating weakness. It is the fastest way to get a useful reply, because it tells us which version of the project to talk about. If you would rather not say, we will give you a range instead and you can tell us which end is realistic.

What happens next

We read every enquiry ourselves, and the reply will either be an honest budget bracket with a suggestion to meet, or a straight answer that the project is not right for us. Where we can, we will point you towards someone better suited. Turning work down quickly costs us less than taking on work we cannot do well.

If it looks like a fit, the next step is a site visit. It is free, there is no obligation attached to it, and it is the only way to price the things that actually move a number: what the floor is made of, where the drainage runs, what a wall is carrying, and what access the building allows. From there you get drawings, a written specification and a fixed price against it.

On commercial work the first visit usually happens with the demise drawings and the landlord fit-out guide in hand, because those decide what the unit can support before anyone talks about a programme.

Ask us directly

Within one working day, and usually sooner. The reply will either be an honest budget bracket with a suggestion to meet, or a straight answer that the project is not right for us and, where we can, a pointer towards someone better suited. We would rather say no quickly than take up your time and then decline after a site visit.

Prefer to send the details in one go?

The quote form asks the questions we would ask anyway, so the first reply can be a useful one rather than a request for more information.
